Why should you want to avoid weight gain during the holidays? Did you know that the average American gains 8.8 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year’s? If you want to imagine what almost 9 pounds looks like think about going to the grocery store and purchasing 9 pounds of butter. Now imagine melting it, putting it in a clear bag and then attaching that bag to your body; very visual and also an impetus to stay on track and avoid weight gain during the holidays. If you live outside of the U.S. there are thankfully still several weeks to go until the holiday’s begin, however the parties and the extra goodies at the office and home can send our blood sugar and the number on the scale into the stratosphere.
