MLM energy drink company eFusjon shocked the entire MLM industry with their recent announcement that they would be dropping their network marketing model in favor of “retail business opportunities.” As of September 1, 2010 tens of thousands of distibutors were dropped without notice and without income. And with little to no sympathy from the company.
Building a network marketing business takes time and effort, and there’s very little I can imagine would be more heartbreaking than to lose your hard-earned business… particularly when the company blatantly blames “distributor performance” as their reason for closure (you can read the painful Dear John letter here). However the truth is that when an MLM company explodes and then collapses, it’s more likely greed and ego to blame. My heart goes out to every single person and their families who have been affected by this.
MLM companies come and go – eFusjon is reflective of the norm, having failed just before the two year mark. That’s why it’s so important to look at all of the details surrounding a company before you get involved.
In the case of eFusjon, within a year of launch they were involved in serious litigation, and sued by MLM Attorney Kevin Thomson.
