Oklahoma is the fattest state in the United States of America. Not surprising then that everyone is talking about Oklahoma weight loss… in a state with an obesity rate 5 percent higher than any other state in America, Oklahoma City has lost a cummulative total of 599,260lbs at the time of this post.
And they have Mayor Mick Cornett to thank… In December of 2007, Cornett announced that “This City Is Going On A Diet” and launched the website to match www.thiscityisgoingonadiet.com. The mayor’s goal: to have Oklahoma City lose 1-million cummulative pounds. Slowly but surely, his goal is being realized. Oklahoma weight loss
Since the launch of this initiative, more than 42,000 participants have registered on the site and have lost more than half of the goal of 1-million pounds. A number of local restaurants have come on board, offering low calorie “Mayor’s Specials,” and local businesses are also participating, by offering incentives to employees who register and lose weight.
In Oklahoma weight loss has become a priority, but unfortunately not all city’s have a mayor like Mick Cornett. Each of us has to make reaching or maintaining a healthy weight a priority. And if a state whose state dish weighs in at 2700 calories can do it, so can the rest of us. If only someone would tell Mayor Cornett about the benefits of Isagenix… the second half of that million pounds would be a breeze! Isagenix Oklahoma
