What are the Best Weight Loss Shakes for Women?

Weight Loss Shakes for WomenThere are literally hundreds of weight loss shakes for women. So how's a girl to know which one is best? This article takes you through deceptive marketing tactics, artificial flavors and sweeteners and stimulants to help you determine the best product to help you lose weight, and keep your body healthy, without going over budget.

Shady Marketing Tactics

Weight Loss Shakes for WomenShady, even dangerous marketing tactics are the first thing you'll have to battle through on your mission to find the best weight loss shakes for women. I hate to say it, but many companies are in it only for the money – they'll sell you out in a heartbeat. Weight Loss Shakes for Women
Be wary of any weight loss shake with less than 10 grams of sugar – this is likely an indication the shake is artificially sweetened with aspartame. I know, I know, everything has aspartame, but do yourself a favor and Google “aspartame side effects.” Trust me, you do not want that poison in your body, and it should not be in anything that calls itself a “health” product.

The good news is there are lots of great weight loss protein shakes for women on the market that don't use aspartame. So if you come across a weight loss shake for women that contains aspartame, slowly back away and look for a product that doesn't include it.

“Check Out My Low-Calorie Shake!”

An ultra-low calorie shake isn't what your body needs to lose weight and be healthy either. Sure you'll lose weight if you starve yourself, but that doesn't mean it's good for you. Both Canada and the United States have strict guidelines when it comes to meal replacement shakes. If it doesn't contain at least 230 calories then it is not enough to sustain you as a meal – period.

Some shakes require you to add milk, almond milk or some other base liquid to bump up the calories, so be sure to follow the instructions correctly or you may not be getting adequate calories. Whether mixed with water or milk, there are some great weight loss shakes for women that meet those standards, so keep looking until you find one. Weight Loss Shakes for Women

“Shouldn't I Choose the Shake with No Fat?”

Absolutely not. Fat is an essential nutrient that the human body needs to function properly. For example, Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble, meaning they can only be digested, absorbed, and transported in conjunction with fats. If you choose a weight loss shake with ultra low fat, you will not be able to properly absorb these essential vitamins.

On top of this, essential fatty acids play a part in many metabolic processes, and there is evidence to suggest that low levels of essential fatty acids, or the wrong balance of types among the essential fatty acids, may be a factor in a number of illnesses, including osteoporosis, so don't be deceived into thinking that super low-fat is the way to go.

You can lose weight the healthy way, by choosing a weight loss protein shake for women that includes the right balance of “good” fat.

“Should I Buy Weight Loss Shakes from the Grocery Store?”

Weight Loss Shakes for Women at the Grocery StoreThe weight loss market is highly competitive, and many companies are producing sub-par products in order to make maximum profit.

How do I know? Just take a look in the diet aisle at your local grocery store. You don't have to read very far down the label – the top 3 ingredients of many of the top-selling weight loss shakes for women are water, corn syrup and fructose. I don't care how many synthetic vitamins you sprinkle into that concoction… you cannot say it's healthy.

This might be a cheaper way to diet… the top ingredients are water and corn syrup, so it's easy for the supplier to sell it cheap and still profit. Just remember, when it comes to weight loss shakes, you get what you pay for.

The Verdict?

Weight loss shakes are a fast, safe and convenient way of dropping those unwanted pounds and inches, when you select the right product and program. But don't sell out your health by going with cheaply made products designed for maximum profit by the manufacturer. Losing weight is about helping your body become the miracle it was meant to be, and you can't do that by starving it or filling it with chemicals.

Instead opt for all-natural (and whenever possible, organic) products designed to deliver maximum nutrition, and visible weight loss results.

“And the Winner Is…”

The weight loss shakes I use and recommend are Isagenix shakes. When mixed as directed, these delicious shakes are a complete meal replacement, with the optimal ratio of healthy fat, carbohydrates and whey protein. They contain contain no artificial sweeteners and can be mixed with your choice of fruit to taste.

Using these shakes you are able to replace one meal with excellent nutrition… Just add water. They taste so good even our kids love them, and because they are so nutritious, half a shake is the perfect breakfast on a busy school day.

  1. Great article, Dawn! Funny, I had a lady come in just the other day to my fitness studio to inquire about classes.

She handed me her card and it was for one of those new shake companies – the one with the low-quality ingredients. I told her I was an Isagenix rep, she hasn’t been back since, lol.

  2. Hello Dawn, I was wondering if you use the Isalean shakes while breastfeeding, and what packaage should I order to start out with? I have already lost almost 10 pounds (out of the 50 I want to lose) by eating clean and exercising 6 days a week. I have done a lot of research on Meal Replacement Meals/Shakes and have found the natural ingredients in the Isalean shakes to be my favorite, and the price to be more reasonable than many others. Oh, also I read your article on the Body By Vi. SO GLAD I DID, many of my friends are reps and swear by the product but because they use sucralose I have absolutely no interest in the shakes. Thank you for sharing that!

    • Hi Chanda,
Congratulations on losing your first 10 pounds… you’re already 1/5 of the way there! You can definitely benefit from using Isagenix products for losing weight. However, while you are breastfeeding, you should avoid “deep cleansing” with Cleanse for Life—a regular intake of calories is necessary to ensure a healthy production of milk. You may also need to avoid Ionix Supreme and Natural Accelerator as it may change the flavor of your breast milk. While breastfeeding, we encourage you continue following your doctor’s advice on supplements including recommendations for a purified fish oil omega-3 supplement, which is important for child brain development.

To help you lose weight safely after pregnancy and while breastfeeding, you may also consider taking advantage of IsaLean Shake and Bar meal replacements, eating regular amounts of fiber with SlimCakes and FiberPro, and sticking to a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables. Because you can benefit from using so many of the products, I would probably recommend the Pacesetter Pak to start with – it comes with a wide selection of products that can be used during pregnancy. It does contain some of the products you can’t take, but you will likely be able to during their shelf-life, and this package offers significant cost savings over others. If you would like to provide me with more information on how much longer you plan to breastfeed, I could give a more personal recommendation in regards to which package to start with.

Let me know if you need more information… you are welcome to email me directly or give me a call any time 🙂
